The Masters of the East

In this video, Brother David talks about the "old days," when inter-religious dialogues were first beginning. He then asks Father Thomas how the current inter-faith dialogue is different from the past. Father Thomas distinguishes between several phases of the Christianity movement. He calls the earlier phase "inter-religious," which tended to focus on the external aspects of traditions. The later phase he calls "inter-spiritual," and focuses on the internal aspects, the deep structures. Inter-spiritual dialogue focuses on the contemplative dimension of life. Without a doubt, remarkable advances have been made in the past fifty years; disagreements that once seemed insurmountable have now been resolved. But much more remains to be done. Listen and learn from two men who have committed themselves to this dialogue since the "old days".
