Is Higher Education Becoming Less Integral?

In this video, a participant asks, why is academia and higher education becoming less integral? Ken states that It’s not that higher education is becoming less integral.... it’s always been that way. Higher education has always trained students in one discipline, thus creating specialists in one field. This approach, while necessary, potentially teaches that all other disciplines are irrelevant. The importance of including an Integral Approach to any single discipline is to make connections between disciplines, so that specialists understand occurrences outside of their specific discipline, broaden their perspectives, grasp the factors and trends that influence their field, and counteract the "siloed" approach to academia.
