How Practical is Integral Medicine?

Healthcare providers, particularly those in conventional medical practices work under enormous constraints and demands. Most physicians have to see a certain number of patients per day to make a good living, and in that time physicians must determine the most important issues to address with that patient, given that they can't address all their issues. For doctors, time is precious. Additionally, a patient’s insurance often constrains the kind of treatment that a doctor can provide. So how can we expect medical professionals to adopt an Integral perspective? Well, the reality is that Integral Medicine is already being adopted. From simple pre-surgery practices or an emphasis on the growth and development of the caregiver, to new intake forms, all the way to major shifts in large HMO’s training and policies, the medical industry is showing promising changes.
