Piaget, Baldwin, and the Mystery of Development

Here Ken talks about two of the West's greatest developmental psychologists: Jean Piaget (1896-1980) and James Mark Baldwin (1861-1934). While Piaget has become much more widely recognized than Baldwin, Ken discusses how he nonetheless owed a substantial debt to Baldwin's work, whose stage conception of cognitive development helped to set in motion the entire field of developmental psychology as we know it today.
