Exploring Integral Zen

Integral Zen is the application of what is known as the Integral map to Zen, itself. By applying the Integral map to Zen Buddhism, not only is the Zen tradition seen in context for the first time, but new insights start to emerge. For instance, if we apply the concept of stages of development to the Zen tradition, we begin to see how evolutionary consciousness plays a large role in how we view and understand enlightenment today, prompting us to ask and explore such questions as, Is the enlightenment of the Buddha the same as the enlightenment of a Zen master in the 21st century? In this video series, Diane Musho Hamilton Sensei explores the various dimensions of Zen practice; from our relationship to the teacher and practice community, to the particulars of form, to the insights we experience from meditation, and how we apply these insights to our everyday lives.
