Why Do People Kill?

What drives a person to murder? In the tragic case of the 2007 Virginia Tech shootings, in which 32 people were killed by a lone gunman, there was no shortage of opinions—ranging from the lack of gun control in the United States, to chemical imbalance in the gunman’s brain, to his isolation (or lack of culture), and the list goes on…. Each of these perspectives is true, and partial. By taking us on a tour of the quadrants, an aspect of the Integral Map, Ken Wilber shows how each of these theories are a piece of the puzzle. When you view all of the pieces conjoined, the result is a broader and more complete answer to this age-old question.
