Inquiry

Describe a time the Integral vision has helped you better communicate with family, friends, or colleagues.

As we all know, communication is an art—often a lost art, at that.  Considering how rich and unique each of our experiences are, and how many different angles we can approach a given topic or mode of self-expression, it can often feel like a miracle that we can find any shared meaning whatsoever.  And yet, there are few experiences as intimately satisfying as when we feel fully heard and understood—or as rewarding as when we are willing to listen deeply to the people around us.  In those precious and fleeting moments of connection, God can be seen, felt, and heard with startling fidelity; and together we can discover divinity hiding in the spaces between us.

Using first-person language, describe a time when you have felt your own ability to communicate somehow enhanced by your understanding of Integral theory and practice.  Feel free to draw upon Integral theory, but try to keep your response anchored in your own personal story.
