Technical feedback
Posted September 5th, 2008 by Carolyn WinterI have just been here a few hours and will try all again next week but so far here are some things to look at
-When you do a search for users or names and then click the profiles the information is not displaying correctly and lines are super imposed on other lines. Also, it looks as though anyone can view the private settings/ of the profile of other names not just their own.
- Was social networking an intended part of this site? Are you considering adding in things like links to facebook, LinkedIn etc
- the navigation is confusing, but perhaps i have not spent enough time on it.
The content is fabulous and rich. WIll enjoy spending time going through it all!!!
Thanks
Carolyn

Voting on Videos
Posted September 16th, 2008 by Max CosciaWhen I vote on whether or not a video clip was helpful or not, it is a pretty big nuisance that the page gets reloaded and the clip restarted when I vote. It doesn't seem like it would be all that hard to change the programming such that I could vote and leave the page otherwise undisturbed. In fact, this is one of the only sites I've come across in awhile that still does this. I almost makes me not want to vote on anything

iPhone Friendly
Posted October 1st, 2008 by Doug L MillerAs you may know, the iPhone will not play Flash (yet). It would be awesome to have a link somewhere on some of the pages that allowed iPhones to play the files.

Share - Featured Posts
Posted October 11th, 2008 by Steve RedmondHi all,
I find the [share - featured posts] the most enjoyable part of the site. It is incredibly valuable to me to have the content filtered like this. Of the featured posts, I would say I almost find the content valuable, educational and enjoyable. Whereas on the few times I have just randomly looked at posts only about 40% are useful. So the time savings for me is fantastic.
I would like to see the ability to view past featured posts enhanced. As the membership grows I see this as even more valuable. You do have a featured posts sort feature but it seems to be a little random. A simple chronological order would be a huge improvement. Also, in addition to this, I would like to sort by the found useful voting feature you offer.
The perfect scenario would be this. I sit down Saturday morning and sort the featured posts. I quickly see the weeks posts. I then look to the right and see a list of posts ranked one to ten of the found most useful by members. This would be similar to the NYtimes web site that offers most read, most blogged about, most emailed. It would be a little Integral newspaper if you will.
Thanks for the opportunity and consideration.

Connecting to my activities elsewhere
Posted March 13th, 2009 by David RoelI'd like Integral Life to connect with my other activities on the web. When I post to my blog, Twitter, Digg, Friendfeed, etc., there should be an automatic notice here, or even better, the whole blog or post posted on my blog here. There's no technical obstacle to this, Facebook does it. This would be an option for those who'd like it. At the moment, in order for me to do anything here, I have to do it here. I'd like to have a presence here, and I could if Integral Life could connect to what I'm already doing elsewhere.

Posted June 19th, 2009 by Pam BethkeWould be very helpful to have the total time listed with the videos so I know how long I need before I start watching!

Have all links to newsletter offerings in one place
Posted July 2nd, 2009 by Roshana ArielWhen I get the weekly newsletter in my email box, I click on one that seems interesting, then I click
on another and another, and pretty soon, I have five tabs open, which just gets kind of unwieldy.
Also, if I accidentally close all my tabs somehow (which I do sometimes), then I have to go back and find that email with all the links to the new material available.
I'd love it if you had a "This week's Newsletter" tab here so we could just open one tab, then go
back to the newsletter right here on the site and choose another.
Thanks for your consideration!

Adding a page to my Favorites/Bookmarks?
Posted July 28th, 2010 by Greg TczapHello!
Is it possible to maintain a list of "Favorite" or "Bookmarked" posts when I log in?
The use case for me here is that I found a page while at work (in this case it is this one: http://integrallife.com/editorial/toward-integral-understanding-science-and-religion) that I want to "bookmark" to explore later. I don't want to create a bookmark in the local web browser - I want to create a bookmark associated with my integrallife account so that when I log in from home I can find it.
Seeing as this website is built using Drupal, you can enable the functionality I'm describing above with the following plugin: http://drupal.org/project/flag
Also could I be so bold as to suggest maybe putting a small "Powered by Drupal" link at the page footer? It would be a great way to help support such great free and open-source software!
Best Regards,
Greg

The depth of the web
Posted August 31st, 2008 by jseav19I've been thinking a lot lately about a statement I heard Wilber make on the one of the audio tracks I downloaded recently. It was in regard to the flatland nature of the www. Thinking about the internet and what it's doing for consciousness is an expansive exercise. How can we add depth and levels to the meta-mind of the internet?
The internet is essentially all information in the world at the click of the mouse. However, it's shortcoming is that, other than Google's page ranking, there's not a lot of structured holarchy to speak of. All websites are created equal in the eyes of Google (pluralist thinking). Not quite, I realize, but how integrally informed is Google's page rank system? And it's ranking is a fraction of internet activity at that.
The internet's capacity to link human minds together is vast. Websites are like centers of the brain that get stronger with use. Brain centers and websites form new patters of thought and behavior as they cooperate, interact, and integrate with one another. The internet is experiencing the growing capacity of its Green mastery. An Integral Website, to walk its talk, ought be integrally informed and begin to transcend and include the Green funtioning of the www.
How can a forum with an undoubtedly higher per capita integral altitude begin to carve out integral web pathways? Can an Integral website begin to inform search engine parameters based on AQAL in a way that translates into useful tools for a user at any level? How can we begin to rank comments and content on I+L based on AQAL? How can the technology and structures formed on the I+L website be transferrable to Google and other search engines, and other internet systems in a way that brings profit to I+L? What are the ramifications for MySpace, FaceBook, match making services, etc.?
At Integral Life, we are in a fantastic position to lead the future quantum leaps of the internet. We undoubtedly have a high density of Integral thinkers. Let's use the potency of this brain power to generate profit and strength in the meta-mind for integral thinking. One "low hanging fruit" option for bringing more depth and a more integrally informed experience to the I+L website is to integrate Pandora.com's technology so that we have the option of an individually tailored soundtrack playing in the background while visiting the site. I'm sure there are more options if we get into a mindstorm with it.
Let me know what you think. Hope this post finds you well.
