Inquiry
What new insights emerge when you apply the Integral approach to the Zen tradition?
How do you currently relate to the Zen tradition? What benefits can the Zen practitioner reap by applying the Integral framework to their tradition? How would this application change your experience of and relationship to Zen practice? What changes do you think should be made within the Zen tradition that would both transcend and preserve its system of study? What aspects should remain and which should get discarded as Zen evolves? How do you think the ancestors would feel about the application of Integral to Zen?

Zen again
Posted August 25th, 2009 by Ev MilesI just started sitting again after more than 13 years. It is due to the one two punch of Ken Wilber's books and the Big Mind process that I came to realize that Zen, is the right path for my native perspective and my individual development as disclosed by my psychograph.
AQAL helps with Zen in a huge way by being able to check in with the quadrants, zones, lines, levels, states, types to gain a perspective on the Zen practice itself. One is much less likely to get lost in the non-dual "all good" trap that can happen with westerners practicing zen. We need a good map for the finite vessels to navigate the world of illusion!
I love how Genpo Roshi (on his site) guides the student through the immature and mature voicings of a perspective and then navigates back an forth between the antithesis and the start point. Then creates the triangle for even a third objective perspective from the apex or fully functioning human being upon the duality play.
The Big Mind process is a major breakthrough for the Zen tradition. Of course we must investigate all criticism to make sure we are not being duped by the self yet again! Is not big mind just big thinking?
I think we must include the traditional Zen format and pay tribute and practice great gratitude for the tradition and the principle players that have gotten us this far. But we must also transcend and spiral up the practice or the ruptures of the approaching evolutionary turns will overshine what positives Zen has brought unto this point.
A spiritaul master should give a rats ass about Integral! ALL- are just vessels for the Dharma, get busy and practice- wack!

Impact
Posted September 7th, 2008 by Julius KoThis has more to do with the impact of this 'movement', than anything. I believe that this movement will have a very large impact in society; and that Diane might have a role/part of this larger than she thinks =).
Just my 2 cents.
Cheers!
