“I offer my art as a window into both the natural and mystical world, inspiring the viewer to the possibilities of the seen and unseen realm of consciousness. The diversity of my work reflects the beauty of life from which I draw inspiration.”

The digital art created by Tony Schanuel is a synthesis and synergy of inspriation from many different times and places, from the glasswork of Murano, Italy, to the sand painting mandalas created by Tibetan monks. His pieces express universal and archetypal symbols that speak to us all in highly unique ways.

Schanuel’s digital art process may begin with an original photo, a scanned botanical or geometric elements and composites created entirely on the computer. He then layers and manipulates the images to reveal and develop elegant symmetry and rich montage. Each work is unique and can take as many as 40 hours to produce. The art is printed on archival paper using state-of-the-art pigment inks.

An award-winning digital artist, Schanuel has fused his professional background in photography with advanced digital technology to create fine art that transcends both mediums.

Schanuel has earned extensive international recognition and honors. He was selected by an international panel to exhibit his work at the 2003 and 2005 Biennale Internazional dell’ Arte Contemporanea in Florence, Italy. His work is held in private, public and corporate collections around the world.

Schanuel’s art has been featured in numerous art and design publications including two books showcasing digital artists and their processes.
