The Writings of Ken Wilber: Essays, Forewords, and Works-In-Progress

A collection of writings from Ken Wilber, consisting of—you guessed it!—essays, forewords, and works-in-progress, as well as excerpts from some of his many books.

It should be noted that these pieces span Ken's entire writing career, and his work has evolved in very important ways since his first book Spectrum of Consciousness was published in 1977.  A summary of these five major phases of Ken's writing will be added to this collection soon--but it should be mentioned that one of the most notable developments is the distinction between states of consciousness and stages of consciousness; which was a relatively recent insight, only becoming clear within the past 10 years or so.  This is why you may occasionally find states (e.g. gross, subtle, causal, and nondual consciousness) being stacked on top of the major stages (e.g. magic, mythic, rational, pluralistic, and integral consciousness.) While some of the earlier writings may not reflect his current position in certain crucial ways, they majority of what you will find here still stands up, and if anything offers a fascinating glimpse into the development of Ken's own thought.
