The "Update" to Transformations of Consciousness

What’s Wilber been working on these days? A brief prologue to the updated volume of Transformations of Consciousness, which was originally published in 1986, has turned into two monster volumes titled Overview and Superview. In this newest, unpublished work, Wilber is mapping out the specific interface of structures (or levels) of consciousness and states of consciousness. Every experience we have can be categorized at some level of development and in some state, and true growth towards full enlightenment does not happen merely in one or the other; it must happen in both. This explains how the pioneering mystics and sages in history were able to have profound spiritual state experiences even at the lower levels of structural development available to the culture at that time.
