I'm so immature
and, evidently, not. I enjoyed his comedic demi-schtick of an introduction. (I enjoyed it all.) Then we switched to the next video clip of meditation and chanting in tongues. It could have been a humorous scene from a Dan Ackroyd, Bill Murry, Eddie Murphy, or Jack Black movie; a blessed goofball found in a pickle - needing to persuade through gruff gibberistic babelesque flummery the idolizing tribe or end up in the pot. The chuckle of conflated impressions stayed in my torso and the part-smile in my face throughout his presentation. I may have even learned something, though I'm not sure what - maybe, spirituality can be fun and funny. Maybe this is why I love Pirkka Horsma's chosen quote as byline, "Me and God, Have become like two giant fat people, living on a tiny boat. We keep bumping into each other, and Laughing! - Hafiz". God as laughter. The renunciation of holding back.
I don't particularly want to like Lama Surya Das, but I do.
Smiles.
