native perspective for a time period plus context/situation dependent
This was interesting - Better Relationships: An Exercise in Self-Discovery.
This exploration-tutorial seemed direct, simple, polished and deceptively evocative for me.
My perspective tends to be Inner Experience (4 choices out of 8) - no surprise. Also no surprise, but more eye-opening for me was that next came Systems (3 choices) - I do love systems theories and 'larger' perspectives and maps. I only had one Action choice, which may have been somewhat context-of-the-vignette dependent - there are some slices through my life where action focus is quite high. No major surprise that attention to relationship is lower on the list in most situations.
I wondered if, though simply one value-equal perspective of four, Inner Experience weren't also an indicator of egocentric as distinct from ethnocentric or worldcentric - that narcissism might be the prominent quality where as Relationship might suggest a higher developmental achievement.
On several of the later questions, after I almost instantaneously identified the prominent self-style, I prioritized the others and noticed how much context and situation played a part in the next likely perspectives.
My interest in relationship based on native perspectives has been piqued by this exercise and other people here's comments about the video/self-assessment. Hmm. ambo
