Everyone Is on the Same Page......

Everyone is already on the same page. It's merely our translations that are different, seemingly so. The stand-up comic, Lenny Bruce, dared to say offensive words on stage in his comedy. He said curse words, words that were simply sound vibrations created by the breath he took in, which fluctuated through a fleshly made throat, reverberated outward, and landed against the same type of fleshly arising organs called ears, which thankfully had the ability to accept these vibrational signals and translate them into electrical signals that flew toward the brain mechanism, which took them and assigned meaning to them based on childhood upbringing and conditioning in a cultural linguistic context. Lenny Bruce went to jail for this in 1964. He made sounds and went to jail for it. This was the basic reality going on.

How many of us have made sounds, or even pre-sounds as thoughts, that we've stifled or held back in fear of being persecuted or judged in any way. The Truth has been held back repeatedly by all of us. And it's pretty weird. Is it the process of evolution, which goes at its own pace and waits for the forerunners to go beyond first, to leap way over the line so the others can feel comfortable at least dipping their toe over it? How many of us are willing to be persecuted or judged as bad, simply because we saw some truth and decided to live up to it?

In reality, everyone on Earth wants love and acceptance. That's the facts. And it is the motivation behind all actions, desires, thoughts, insecurities, atrocities in fact. Now, if we can see this truth, that all that we see in the behavior of people within our human family has been motivated by this one and only thirst for love and acceptance, then do we not find ourselves then to be completely free? We can see our own actions, blog posts, thoughts, cravings, all of it, simply as an expression of already present oneness, an acting out of a core and basic gravity only concerned with unification and support. It's weird, but true. And when we realize it, we see there is no such thing as "evil" in the world. There has only ever been love denied at a critical juncture in our development, and the retardation of our ability to express love and our need for it. The result, of course, is disharmony.

But the realization of all of this is the very freedom of it we are all wishing for. Can we see how we all, every person alive today, all of us, are already on the very same page? Isn't this what we always thought world peace to be in the first place?

John Wayne Gayce was a serial killer. When he was a child his mother would refuse to cut his hair because she always wanted a girl for a child. His father would get drunk and beat him brutally and call him a "sissy." When John grew-up he would dress up as a clown (his biggest fear as a child) and go out and look for men who looked gay or feminine, and he would kidnap these people and kill them. He didn't know why he was doing it. It was all an unconscious attempt to destroy in the world what his father taught him was most unacceptable about his very own self. To destroy outwardly in the world what his father hated most was his unconscious attempt to gain back his lost father's love. This is how we all operate. And if we look closely, we will see that it is so. There is no such thing as evil. There is no evil to be fightin' only ignorance to enlighten.

We are all already on the very same page. And it is a gift, the gift of psychology, this science so ignored by many, that we have to thank for this understanding. In my opinion, psychology is holy more than any book ever written or put together by our ancient ancestors. And it is my only wish that we realize this and take this search even deeper at this time, if not for our small selves, then for our entire human family, a family that deserves a healthy and integrated self such as us to be able to produce the harmony people have prayed for for thousands and thousands of years.

Hi Billy,

I can see how everyone is on the same page in an absolute sense; this is usually called the ground of being.

But in a relative sense, i'm having a little trouble with this everyone on the same page idea. It plays havoc with the whole idea of developmentalism; which on its face speaks to the idea of stages of  unfoldment. Are we talking about apples and oranges here? Are pages something different from stages?

I'm not quite ready to dismiss all the sacred texts of the world; there's a lot to be learned about karma yoga from the Bhagavad-Gita, for exanple. And the ancient Chinese classic, the book of changes is unique among the sacred texts in that what it has to say is testable.

And while i agree that Western psychology has a lot to teach us about who we are and why we do what we do, it represents for the most part a truncated version of human potential. Which is to say that a more advanced spirituality takes up where modern psychology leaves off.

If the 'everybody' that you refer to is limited to a wide swath of humanity, it's fair to say that they are concerned about getting love and acceptance; this does however allow room for a much smaller slice that's interested in giving love and acceptance.

Please understand that i'm sympathetic with your passion about these things; but from my view, the use of hyperbole tends to undercut the value in that very passion.

Warmly,

Charles
