The Limits of Science, Promise of Future Revolution

It's a weird enigma, a strange riddle of sorts. What used to be dogmatic religion and atheism has become science and New Age. And all of these things do not play in to my own experience, which is This Thisness. I don't particularly care much what these twos have to say about this One. I will never be satisfied with outside answers on this question of the meaning of life. We have this star, this sun, and we have this big spherical Earth, and we have this atmosphere created in part by biological life, we have gravitational pull keeping us all here on the planet and not floating off into space (and in fact, as we all know, without it life wouldn't have developed in the first place), and light and heat from this sun source which nourishes us in the first place, all of it is extremely weird and for some reason alludes the apprehension of most people in its majesty. 

I think besides self-sacrificing is the term "selfless service," which in my opinion means doing for life. And we are included in this term "life." All the Universe is for life: gravity, light, the atmosphere, the biosphere, truth, philosophy (in that it is the philosophy of universal ethics that lends to the liberation and fair treatment of all people and animals), water, the bonding of atoms into molecules, space and the material within it, planetary motion, the moon, the sun, all for life. It all serves life. So when we serve life, when we give food to people, when we tell jokes and provide laughter and enjoyment of this life for people, I think this is selfless service. But selfless only in the sense of concern for life, and not simply the small or isolated self within our own ideas and skin. This is for all life. All life is selfless in this sense. 

I don't know about loving things into existence. I think all existence is love. But I am not sure about this. There is the fact of our own immediate experience, which is undeniable. We exist, and happening is happening. This is true for all people. And I believe that the evidence of love is the unifying principle, that which is the Universe as one totality undivided even by minds that would have it be so. This Universe is one. We have no experience or scientific evidence of other Universes. There is just this one, as far as we know. And to know another Universe, if there be more, is to have some kind of connection between this Universe and the other. Thus even these many Universes would be connected and one. It is simple existence. Existence is. There is only one existence. We are it. And I personally think that the division mind was created out of a society that would have us fending for ourselves for survival and a way to feel belonging to a safe group, a group that can insure survival. So we look for what is not ourselves in order to remain aware and a part of what is ourselves. It's difficult to talk about or describe. But we were taught when we were kids that there was something wrong with us. We were taught that love and acceptance only comes when we are "good" and doing what our parents, teachers, and society deemed correct and acceptable. So when we are older we are on the lookout for that which is unacceptable only as a means of proving our own acceptableness. It's weird. It's compensatory. But it's all based on an assumption that we already aren't worthy, that we already aren't already perfect and totally acceptable. Squirrels are looked at as stupid animals by some. And my contention is that this is an unconscious projection to cover up the fact that they accept themselves completely. And how can this self-acceptance be otherwise, for they have no concepts to divide them.

All I know is, I grew up in ignorance. My ex-girlfriend taught me not to kill bugs. Not by saying so, but by taking the ants outside one by one. It was her essence, her beingness, and her example combined, that were the teacher for me. I came out of a meth dealing and addicted home full of extreme physical and psychological abuse. Couldn't have gained and learned this lesson in this home. I was lucky. But what is luck? Why don't the majority of ghetto rats get this opportunity? What is the deciding factor here? It's all confusing to me. And I do believe that social context is a great decider. If we had a world where the education system and the culture supported looking within, supported questioning beliefs and even our own existence, supported even looking at existence as an interesting thing to look at, I think we would have way less crime and needless suffering. So I think the best thing to do is to try and move toward a society such as this. But can we? And we saw Plato and many others trying to do just this. But for some reason the majority didn't lock on to this. Was this all just a preview of what is to become of the majority? Were these great seers the forerunners of where the majority would eventually be going, as Ken has suggested? I don't know.

I'm glad you mention love as the spark, and I think it's also the center, as I'm sure you'll agree. It appears that love is equivalent to gravity, in my experience. Gravity is an all-attractive, unifying force. And they say that gravity has no opposite, that it's the only force known by science to have no opposing force. It exists as the essence of every atom, every molecule, every material body. Yet it is not seeable but simply as the actions it enacts, such as unification, harmonization, ordering, patterning, and such. We cannot take gravity out of an object and study it. It is the essence of an object, expressed in the happenings that happen. It's weird. So who knows?

I think we are doing something about the starving masses by feeling. And I know that a lot of people are against feeling. But I think by feeling the sadness and shock and horror, by facing the Holocaust and reading about it, by looking, rather than turning away, we are opening the heart, which is connected with the greater body of humanity, a body that extends infinitely down the generations. And our actions, even our yawns and belches, seem to express this openness, in my opinion. Our every breath, our every movement, all is a living example of this love, and it teaches, it truly does, even on these subtle levels. I don't know how it works, but it does. I'm not a believer in anything. I'm a seer of everything I talk about. I see it, but cannot explain it. And you do to, as does everybody that would care to have a gander. 

When you say that you realize that it is never enough, I think that you are expressing the nature of evolution, which is never stagnant and satisfied like a full stomach. It is the ever-pushing, ever-pulling, ever-moving impulse of constant and never-ending transformation as the essence of all that is. If you took some person in the 1300s, a time of slavery, many plagues and no medical science, no equal rights for women, completely oppressive and unquestioned dogmatically religious power structure, and you time-warped them into this moment now, I think this person would sit back and relax, even if they remained a homeless person on the street, and they would sit content thinking they were in heaven. But each generation is on the leading edge of evolution, and thus to be content and lazily satisfied is to be unnatural, in my opinion. If we're feeling discontent, if we're feeling dissatisfied and thinking there is still work to do for the further liberation of our people, of ourselves, then we are only feeling what every life form has felt for billions of years, in my opinion. 

I don't feel myself to be a pawn in the game, when it comes to premonition and synchronicity. I just don't think it explainable by science and New Age theories. I think that so far it has been a private high five from the Universe to the Universe saying, "Hey man, guess what, you are more than a man." 

I don't know about any of this, but it's been fun, and I'm glad we are writing this stuff out here. I've enjoyed your comments and discussions. I don't know though. I don't have a clue to the answers in words or concepts to any of this stuff. As poetic as we can be with these words and symbols, it is difficult to guide or point people toward the witnessing and experiencing of breath-halting apprehension of the weird and miraculous nature of their own existence. And I believe that such an experience is the most liberating thing possible. 

My goal as an artist is to push the line, to push the envelope, to shove the boundary of social acceptance as far over as possible, like our forefathers have done so that we could now be enjoying the level of freedom we enjoy now. It's my job to be controversial and challenging, in my opinion. It's when I feel best. I don't think we need to, or should, treat dogmatically religious or mythologically religious people as handicapped people and walk on eggshells around them in order to keep the peace. We need to show them that they are not on the leading edge of human understanding, that their church was behind nearly a hundred million murders throughout history, and that they are prey to governments that need support for financially profitable and strategically favorable wars and that is all. And I don't much care if people like me, when it comes to this stuff. I do this for my children and all future children of our generations to come. And they will find their own new things to rebel against, question, and work toward liberation, all for the freedom of their future progenitors. This is evolution.

If someone asked me, "What do you think Spirit is?" I would have to say at this time, "Evolution."

This is so inspiring. Thank you. I went for a long walk in the woods today. Entering into the, "wild and beautiful cacophony of mystical sparks so dense it's overwhelming" Yes yes how poetic your words, describing my own experience. Like this  connected frequency where there is no separation of the forest and me. The dogwoods smiling, the butterflys fleeting in and around me....I felt so humbled thinking if bacteria were removed we couldn't survive......if our sun didn't shine down we would not be here.....everything so beautifully orchestrated giving us the ability, as you say, to know inspiration and love...

The music, the arts, the mountains and oceans all these eartly delights to inspire us to greater consciousness and to love one another....and to bring peace..... only if we all just allow our own minds to seed that peace.

Remember the movie, where Tom Hanks says, "Houston we have a problem".....well it should be stated, Humanity we have a problem....ego identification.....
