Why Autonomy's Presence is Good
Blogs from Autonomy are good and are serving us more than most bloggers for the following reasons:
He represents the fundamentalism and immaturity in each of us and the response we have toward him are really just projections about how we actually feel about our own dogmatic beliefs. We really do think we KNOW. We really do identify with that which thinks it KNOWS. So, we can be thankful for Autonomy's presence here on the site because whatever REACTIONS arise are really pointers that, if followed, leads us back to seeing our own selves responsible for these reactions in the first place.
Another truth of the matter is that Autonomy is trying to get attention, he feels alone in the world despite having a church that supposedly cares about him. And who among us isn't on this site and typing and responding to blogs without feeling alone as well? Aren't we all wanting some attention? Are we willing to admit this?
We've come out of a world that for thousands of years has handed down abuse after abuse and generations have unconsciously carried this abuse into each family that has lived up until this very moment, all completely unconscious of such things as psychology, generational repetition of abuses, and even the very evolutionary context and big picture in which this has all occurred. Therefore, unconditional love and acceptance is quite new on the scene. Yet it is the very thing we've all been craving for oh so long, is it not? Isn't this really why we do every single thing that we do, so that we can receive unconditional love and acceptance as well as give it?
Sure, some people do not know how to come outright and say, "I crave total acceptance for who I am, not for what I do, but for my very existence, which is connected to the totality and therefore equal and deserving in every way, just like a newborn baby." How many of us can even see this type of genuine honesty as maturity?
Thank you, Autonomy, for teaching us these things. And keep being you, because this is what I love. I love you exactly as you are.
Love

You're Right
Posted March 5th, 2010 by Jennifer GroveThe impulse in me to make Autonomy go away is very strong. But something in me is causing me to not use the "block" option. I know there is something here for me.
My impulses to be an attention grabber and to be right are very strong. But equally strong is my desire to not be that. My Shadowing impulse prevents me from being aware of these impulses and so I cannot yet objectify them fully. While I am still identified with them - in a Shadow state - his presence is an irritant.
