Wilber 6???
This is in reference to the recent guest blog over at Ken Wilber's blog.
http://www.kenwilber.com/blog/show/523
Anyways, I was just interested in a couple of things, first of all, hearing what anyone here thinks about it. Also, my personal opinion is that this is something huge that is really going to expand even Integral theory far beyond what it is now. I just think we are being presented with a unique opporunity and when he discusses in the article the potential for at least 96 (well actually much greater) lattices similar to the Wilber-Combs lattice. I think it would be interesting to see what Integral Life as a community can possibly do to help accelerate the process of fleshing some of these things out...I was going to keep looking at that blog and see if I can't try my best to look at what some of these lattices might be and I think it would be interesting for some of us to try and see if we can't help this guy process some of the work he is diving into...anyways, I personally will probably fall far short of a "good" job on this, but it just seems to be at a stage where anything would help.

Incredible!
Posted June 13th, 2009 by Brendan LaChance in response to Star TetrahedronThat is really interesting to me that there would be a confluence like that...not sure what it means but thanks a lot for the observation! Certainly lets the mind run wild with all the possibilities here.

Some speculations
Posted June 14th, 2009 by Christophe Witz in response to Star TetrahedronHi Mark and Brendan,
It's good to see your enthusiam about the Vector Equilibrium. I really think this could be an important part of the puzzle.
I studied some Thelemic texts about these geometric mysteries, and ZARDOZ shared his superior knowledge of the issue with me, and thus I came to the following conclusion:
The ancient Egyptian culture had knowledge of the Holy Architecture of Space-Time. Basically this secret knowledge is like the Kabbalah for material objects, wherein all numbers and geometric forms are in harmony with each other. What Buddhist Wisdom did for the Human Mind, the Egyptian prophets did for the mind of the Universe. Sounds simple? It is.
The fact that Integral Ken obviously didn't get this is once more the fact that the Integral Theory is based on a Buddhist Theology. Integral is very good in questions of Inner mind, Psychology, Body-Mind, etc. but it still lacks some aspects that can only be seen from outside the box.
Haramein's Unification Field Theory covers ground that Integral does not. There are other movements out there that go beyond the scope of Integral ™. Just saying, eh. I don't want to scare anybody nor is it my intention to shatter anyone's worldview, but hey, that's just what I see. There are developments, for example in Continental Philosophy, that are on the passing lane. And the AQAL Cube, or Wilber 6.0, is not gonna change this situation, as far as I can see right now.
All the best,
Christophe

No addiction here...
Posted June 14th, 2009 by Brendan LaChance in response to Some speculationsI am not exclusively attached to Wilber's version of Integral, any resources you recommend to understand this other stuff...(Haramein's Unification Theory, Continental Philosophy)?
Thanks again for the info, would love to check this other stuff out.

M.C. Escher's use of the star tetrahedron
Posted June 14th, 2009 by Linda Hollier in response to Some speculationsHi Brendan and Christophe
You may have noticed my thread on M.C. Escher. If you take a look over there you will see I have posted a picture of Escher’s use of the Star Tetrahedron for you to look at.

References?
Posted June 15th, 2009 by Robb Smith in response to Some speculationsHi Christophe -
"There are developments, for example in Continental Philosophy, that are on the passing lane." I'd be interested in what you believe these to be and if you can provide some texts or references? Thanks...

"Because I am the best!"
Posted June 16th, 2009 by avoid in response to See ya RobbMark, would you please allow me...?
Why can't you stop competing with people? You have trashed Robb and the site (even attacked him on your website! Proudly! ) and now what...you expect him to reply to you in these terms????
What a joke, Mark. Seriously. Please don't get upset and listen.
Explain. Why do you think the spiritual "business" is not for him (or others) but it is for you?
I don't get it.
Please show your logic by typing a logical response. Do not escape from a logical answer by replying with tiresome links! Sometimes the links are good but often they are tiring because one may not be interested in reading some parallel conversation in another site! You are overdoing it.
You have replaced that type of "engineering ability" that you used to have with this magical thinking and being you've been addicted to lately!
Why don't you just make a decision to free you from yourself?
Stop competing. Accept your limitations as well as your strenghts and move on!
Wilbers and Cohens and Gafnis lived their lives to this spirituality "thing". You have not! You did other things...great things! You are an Engineer as you proudly say it. You raised 2 children, you had a 23 year marriage and a 6 year one... Is that not good enough?
Look at you...you have almost no money in your wallet, living with a friend and won't give up the stubbornness that you are "leading humanity with your awareness."
I wonder, how much longer can one embarrass himself?
Please don't get angry. I say this ...you know why. You know me. I don't think I need to say it..

Sure
Posted June 15th, 2009 by Christophe Witz in response to References?Hello Rob,
well this passing lane metaphor is just my impression of course. Please feel free to check it up by yourself.
I am refering to Slavoj Zizek, Alain Badiou and Giorgio Agamben, who teamed up to form a anti-postmodern strand of Continental Philosophy (Source: Wikipedia). I am not an Philosophy expert, but in my non-professional eyes those three Monsieurs are taking Philosophy beyond the Post-modern (green) wave into the next level.
That means that the usual "those guys are all postmodern green" argument will not be valid anymore. I recommend to take a look at Zizek's "Parallax View", Badiou's "Being and Event" (I have only read the "Century", but look forward to "Being...") and Agamben's musings on Foucault and beyond. I know, it's a lot of work to read all this complicated stuff, but I think it's necessary if we wanna know what's coming our way...
All the best,
Christophe

Can you be a little more specific...?
Posted June 15th, 2009 by Brendan LaChance in response to References?I realize I could go buy these books you are providing links for and I really appreciate that and I just might do that.
In the meantime, could you just maybe provide a little glimpse of how you see Continental Philosophy being in the passing lane? I really am open to this idea here but so far I just don't get it. It may very well be the case these recources you are providing are something beyond the scope of Integral as it currently stands but could you please just give me a taste here of what you have in mind...???
Pllllleeeaaaaaase? (See the laziness comment does apply to me too

AyeAye
Posted June 16th, 2009 by Christophe Witz in response to Can you be a little more specific...?Hello Brendan,
well now you got me again. But I'm afraid I cannot give a short summary. These new ideas are still processing in my brain, and it will take more time to find out what's really going on.
All I can say is that these Monsieurs have boggled my brain in a way that so far only Wilber could do (OmyGod this sounds so sexual. Excuse me). I have the feeling that this is the new shit that's going to have an impact on 21st century thinking. I can point to nothing else but my excitement about it.
The most significant of the three is Mr. Badiou. Read the Amazon Reviews on the book I linked to get an impression. Zizek even compares him to Platon and Hegel. Just to give you an idea of how big this could turn out to be.
Cheerio,

Good enough for me!
Posted June 16th, 2009 by Brendan LaChance in response to AyeAyeYou have me convinced that it can't hurt to check this stuff out...then I can know if you are just telling me a bunch of nonsense or not...
Anyways, I'm still of the opinion this AQAL cube could mean something so I am going to spend a little more time with it. Until Badiou arrives to boggle my mind at least...
Real mental orgy we've got going on here I'd say!
Harder, better, faster, stronger
Or was it Daft Punk???

Star Tetrahedron
Posted June 13th, 2009 by Christophe WitzHello Brendan LaChance,
thanks for that Link. Yes the Integral Theory gets more and more complex, eh.
As usual, I'm not so much interested in the details (a bad habit, I know. Can't remember where I picked it up :P). Instead, something that I saw intrigued me.
It was this picture in Mr. Neal's text.
Now compare it to this illustration of a Star Tetrahedon:
It's the same thing. That's kind of remarkable, because this second picture shows a Vector Equilibrium, as described by Buckminster Fuller, and lately by Physicist Nassim Haramein.
I think that's an amazing confluence! Dont you think!
