Alex Grey's Obama - Anatomy of a World Leader

via http://www.alexgrey.com/obama.html

"Perhaps you can use this symbol of Barack Obama to send him a prayer of support, to send all the loving hopeful healing and creative energy that we can focus on him so that he can perform the task of leadership in the most effective and powerful way for the greatest good, for the greatest number."

redefining good

Hi C4,
Many folks including numbers who did not vote for Obama find themselves in sympathy with the request you've posted.  In fact this sympathy could be described as a surge of goodwill and i have no interest in detracting from it even in the tiniest amount.
I'm also in favor of an upgrade of the moral notion expressed as, 'the greatest good for the greatest number' to 'the greatest depth for the greatest span'.  (technically, depth is the number of levels in a holon and span is the number of holons in a level)
KW has described this latter phrase as being in harmony with what he has called the Basic Moral Intuition or BMI. Implicit in the Alex Grey depiction is the importance of what is sometimes referred to as the third eye, which corresponds with the likely center known as the sixth chakra, and can be thought of as symbolizing intuition itself; whose  apparent function is to link mind with over mind and super mind.
On the surface it would seem that 'greatest  good for the greatest number' is ideal; but it turns out that this is basically a flatland concept. The true effect of which would be to favor viruses or insects which far outnumber humans -who at their best carry depth, the lack of which tends to rob us of meaning.
Often my daily walk through the nearby woods follows a path alongside the grandmotherly Fox River. These walks often have a meditative quality and while musing on this depth/span maxim and perhaps inspired by my experiences in obtaining measurements for survey cross-sections for more than one river the following haiku came about:
Hidden in the Open
Teaching as it goes:
Greatest depth for greatest span;
River as it flows.
Warmly,
Charles
