At one level it is a miracle and at another just science! Interpretation of an event at several levels

I would love to share a unique media update on a local Toronto story that made the headlines last summer on August 10th 2008. Early that morning, in a small working class neighborhood of Toronto, a propane explosion occurred on an industrial zoned property at the edge of this community. The fire and explosions continued for several hours and made huge headlines. Amazingly, only 2 people died including a firefighter who died on the scene of a heart attack and the propane plant employee- a student who allegedly had not been properly trained.  Over, 13,000  people were evacuated in the incident and one year later are still picking up the pieces of their lives.

Recently the local media covered the anniversary of the event and personal stories.  The most amazing story to me was covered by CBC reporter Mary Wiens who found out how the community was linked with shared beliefs, prayer, a canonized saint from their home town in Italy and numerous coincidences. It made for a major miracle-in their opinion.  Deepak Chopra happened to be in town and also offered his perspective on this amazing side story.

The story of this neighborhood reminds me of the implications of the power of intention, and how it can magnify with a group that has shared vision and values.  Imagine if all members of a troubled community would come together and start focusing on positive community intentions?  I wonder how things would change.
