Psychism in the "Grand Scheme". . .

Psychic phenomena and i bumped into each other a long time ago; in fact for me it was a bit of a rude awakening, and necessitated an expansion of my worldview in order to come to terms with both its possibility and its meaning. Primarily my experience with it has been via the transmission of information, especially from person to person.

So i have come to think of this sort of psychic transmission of information as being analogous to radio transmissions with which we're all familiar; typically they are AM and FM, representing two different ways of Modulating a carrier wave. (AM modulates the carrier wave in terms of Amplitude, while FM modulates Frequency.) In this analogy the carrier wave for psychic transmission of this sort is affection. Typically i think of it as a built-in safeguard  against unwanted intrusions into one's mind. And while it's a truism that most of us carry around within our psyches information about ourselves that under the right circumstances we'd be pleased and/or relieved to share with another. In some cases this is known as 'pillow talk'; in any case we much more likely to share intimate details when the basic framework of understanding between the two parties is based on affection if not love.

But when my worldview needed to expand to include the AQAL framework, my understanding of the place of psychic transmissions needed to grow also. There is an element of developmental sequencing at work here. In general terms psychic transmissions are horizontal phenomenon; and that the information that they relay tend to be limited to those levels of developmentalism that have been transcended and included. (The general distinction i make is that this horizontal transformation of information could possibly obtained in another  way, commensurate with that level of development.) This is in clear counter-distinction to vertical transmission of information, which if its source comes from a level yet to emerge i call is intuition. (The general distinction here is that the information provided is unlikely to happen in any other way.) 

If i step back and look at this whole business with an overview, psychic transmission and intuitions can be seen as associated with being and becoming respectively.  This overview has its roots in experience.

Regulars here know that i love a good story, and here's what happened some decades back when i was at an annual meeting of a charitable organization known for spiritual tendencies. It was time for the financial report; and the CFO attempted to enliven what are typically dull and dry facts and figures with some audience participation. So he proposed sort of survey/contest, by listing the 10 top outlays of expenditures by category. Prizes were to be awarded for what participants thought how the audience would vote for each category, sort of David Letterman style from 10 to 1. The gal seated right in front of me got all 10 right; the best i could do was nine, others did far less. My second place award was a book, written by a young scholar from Florida and his experiments with known psychics and the archaeology of the Sunshine State. As i remember it was a groundbreaking attempt at integrating differing approaches to the meanings associated with native artifacts.
