Bad audio?
Posted December 6th, 2011 by Chris Hayhurst
In Reference to:
Islam: A Love StoryI was really interested in this talk, because as we all know, there is very little out there on Integral Islam, and I unfortunately couldn't hear most of what the guest had to say and could really only hear Ken's input. I don't know if it was a problem with a long distance calling thing or what, but most of the conversation was lost on me because I couldn't hear what Amir was saying throughout a majority of the interview... =(

work-around...
Posted December 9th, 2011 by Charles BowlingHappy Friday All,
It was easy for me to follow Corey's recommendation, which I quote here:
*Note: Unfortunately Amir's phone connection was not quite as clear as our usual recorded dialogues, which resulted in sub-optimal audio quality. I did my best to clean up the recording in order to make Amir's voice more audible, but you may find some parts to be difficult to make out. As such, I recommend headphones for this discussion. —Corey
Easy because it's my practice not to use speakers with my computer set-up; rather I employ a high-quality headset made up of both earphones and microphone. The plain fact is I'm a lousy keyboardist, a handicap that I choose to work-around by using speech-to-text software and vice versa. This works really well for me but it's an option that is dependent on high quality audio input, i.e. the better the hardware the better the result. Employing it I had very little difficulty understanding what Amir had to say. It's also easy for me to imagine Corey struggling with subpar audio; I am grateful for his efforts at remediation, and the above note explaining the situation.
