No censorship in the IL community

There have been a few questions recently about whether or not IL staff is responsible deleting various blogs and comments in the community. So I wanted to take the opportunity to clear the air and let you know that we do not censor blog posts or comments. 

If we ever have cause to remove something (usually because of abuse or other violations of our community guidelines), at the very least you will be informed of why, and in most cases the original thread will be left intact with a very clear and descriptive EDIT in the thread.

That said, please be aware that the OP of any thread can in fact delete their own blogs, which also deletes all comments that are contained within.  If you notice any missing posts, you might want to start by sending the OP a private message to confirm that this is what happened.

Well actually my posts were censored at least two times on Integral Life, and rightly so. Once I used nasty words to a female, and another time I wrote an unjustified remark about a politician, thus placing my comment in a polemic and unworthy context. Also I remember that a comment of mine was deleted by the Admin in a dispute with a fellow Integral poster almost three years back. My guess at the time was that my debate-opponent had better relations to the SysOp, thus proving my point that he was nothing but a powerplayer with green makeup.

So this was all more or less justified, and I have no hard feelings about this at all. The only thing is, in none of the above cases did I receive a message to tell me what had happened. So the above statement by Mister Devos that messages are being sent in every case of censorship strikes me as untrue. Just saying.

Also I remember that in a recent posting by my good friend Zardoz, a Pictural Link was removed, also without prior message.

I am saying all this to help readers of this forum to avoid the mistake of thinking that Integral and Integral Admins are free from bias. They are not. Even them are "Free to be fully human", and of course it's the greatest of biases to think that you are free from it.

So, thanks for your attention, and keep up the imperfect work.
