About Me

Hi, my profile is quite out of date, I'll have to come back and edit this at some point! I'm currently in the Montpelier, Vermont area. Cecile and I closed our landscaping and building business, mentioned below, and I recently received my certification as an Integral Coach from ICC, and am starting a coaching practice! read on, for a historical perspective.

I currently live in Ann Arbor, Michigan with my wife Cécile and our two cats. We moved here nearly ten years ago to focus on our spiritual practice and that is still a very important aspect of our daily life. Previously we lived in several intentional communities in Floyd County, Virginia, Abundant Dawn and Light Morning. Prior to that we were in Vermont, I was there for for about ten years. I suppose this geographic place making is important to me. I am dedicated to the earth in some fundamental way. One of the most important tasks I can imagine for this birthing of Integral is to find ways to bring human and other aspects of life on earth into balance!

I look forward to the conversations!

Love,

Daniel

Career

Cécile and I own Heart and Soul, ecological landscaping and natural building. Check us out at heartndsoul.biz.

I've been building things since childhood, when my family built two solar homes when we lived in Michigan, and then Connecticut. During my late teens and early twenties I was very involved with technical theatre, working for several professional production companies. However as my interest in outdoor education grew, my desire to live in a large city declined. I did some great training with Outward Bound, the National Outdoor Leadership School, and Project Adventure. I worked for a decade in outdoor and experiential education, facilitating team-building and ropes course programs for a wide range of populations from youth to corporate groups.

Since moving to Michigan I have applied my interest in and skills for ecological building to some great projects with out business, Heart and Soul. We have had the opportunity to begin to apply our longstanding interest in natural building, and continue the process of educating people in our area about these ideas.

Hobbies and Interests

I love to travel, and combining that with my interest in spiritual development led me to spend nearly a year cumulatively in India in the early '90s. I spent much of my time there studying with HWL Poonja or Papaji. I also had the opportunity to spend a fair amount of time with Gangaji around that time. I found the purity of the absolute very astounding and supportive at the time, as best as I was able to allow it. since then however I have been drawn approaches which also give some guidance on our manifest lives. For most of the last decade I studied with Brenda Morgan, here in Ann Arbor, who leads a vibrant spiritual community integrating ego transcendence into daily life. Recently, however, Cecile and I have stepped back from involvement with this community, and are taking stock of what is next in many areas of our life.

I play guitar and sing, though not as much as I would like.
