the history of my spiritual tradition doesn't go back two or three thousand years .. but only four hundred years .. it may have started when shoemaker and mystic jakob bohme recognized that god is developing a world of increasing wholeness and perfection .. and gw leibniz declared that the evolution of biological beings is a god ordained process

and three hundred years ago immanuel kant saw god's physical laws fashioning a material world into more perfection .. and jb robinet explored evolution as being driven by a spiritual energy or force .. as johann wolfgang von goethe embraced evolution as a spiritual process .. and jg fichte proposed both inner mind and outer nature are evolving expressions of transcendent consciousness

and two hundred years ago fwj schelling fused mysticism and logic and recognized god is fully pervading all levels of being .. as hegel wrote treatises on cultural development as being guided by spirit .. and arthur schopenhauer said a fundamental tenet of existence is the evolutionary impulse or will to live .. as ralph emerson's transcendentalism synthesized eastern karma with western evolution .. and alfred russel wallace 's theory of natural selection had a spiritual dimension

and a hundred years ago richard bucke chronicled the potential of the human psyche .. as william james applied an evolutionary perspective on psychology and consciousness .. as henri bergson had a concept of a vital force behind the evolutionary process .. and alfred north whitehead recognized god as the process of the material world evolving.. as sri aurobindo synthesized east and west redefining spiritual practice as conscious engagement with evolution .. and pierre teilhard de chardin had a vision of the evolutionary destiny of human consciousness

and julian huxley shed light on the realization that the evolving universe is becoming self aware thru humanity

and now barbara marx hubbard inspires a co-creative global society and trains agents of conscious evolution .. as jean houston declares a passion for the possible .. and ken wilber awakens us to the spirit of evolution .. spirit in action .. and andrew cohen speaks of our identity with the energy and intelligence driving this whole mysterious evolving process .. and craig hamilton laughs and says the BIG BANG is a BIG YES

and john stewart writes "the evolutionary manifesto"
