beautiful
Posted October 28th, 2010 by Kelly Wardthat has been in my mind through out the evening. To just plainly and joyfully state that she has a worthwhile perspective and experience is refreshing.
I really enjoyed this conversation and have wondered many times if Mary and Jesus were lovers during their time together. There is no way to really know this? or so it seems...I was brought up in a church that always described the crucifixion with Mary at his feet. Tori Amos talks a lot about her , my friend finds her spiritual connection through relating with her.
She is a mystery to me. in a time when hatred of women , covert and overt is still an epidemic in our society, globally, I believe this conversation is so important to discuss. Ways in which the Divine works through the feminine and how that differs from how the Divine works through the masculine.
I am caught on the disrobing the ego...as it is an abstract concept that can send me into a tail chasing fiasco. Could it be that my internal rantings are the product of a clothed ego? What an interesting topic...
Is a woman's spiritual development an unfolding, non-linear experience? I remember reading about a folk story, analyzed by Clarissa Pinkola Estes and I believe she talks about a kind of "going under' and then re-emerging from a different place. This seems to be pointing towards the non-linear experience of development.
of course I love the idea of spontaneous emergence instead of the slow drudge of spiritual inquiry. Today was day that I needed a card game, something light.
I wonder a lot about her internal experience with the Divine. Are there writings?
The movie Stigmata covered some of the scripture in the Gnostic Gospel of Thomas, and being a person who was exposed to a family who practiced Buddhism I always wondered how Christianity and Buddhism were linked. I ended up at talks at local universities that discussed this and the Gnostic Gospel of Thomas was part of the discussion.
For me, Jesus' life was a life of example, but Buddhism gives another way of manifesting this life that he discovered and embodied. Jesus said to love your neighbor as yourself, but he didnt say how. The gospels. to my understanding were letters, about an experience with Jesus. a Second hand exposition of his life that he did not write himself.
It is not often that I am able to have a conversation to rediscover my understandings of the Bible and to learn more about it.

Very Interested
Posted September 30th, 2010 by Jennifer GroveI'm actually very interested in what she's talking about here. I've been experimenting with various types of contact and interaction with disembodied beings or energies and have come to some conclusions myself. I want to know what she knows.
