kosmic grooves of architecture
amazing how it's always there .. the levels of development .. showing themselves in all quadrants
altho he didn't use the terms rational and pluralistic per se, here alain speaks about architecture at the rational level .. "architects saw themselves as scientists building machines" .. where beauty was not to be addressed
then emerging to pluralistic .."property developers could put up something revolting saying noone knows what's beautiful .. u must be a snob if u think there are rules"
and oh be still my heart .. we all know exactly what stu and alain are talking about .. how we resonate with certain structures .. the waterfall inside portage place .. shooting three stories up past lushious green plants to the glass skylights and shimmering blue skies beyond.. sending my soul with it
if that's my shadow .. give me more shadow

truth
Posted January 19th, 2009 by Corey deVosTotally true, about the "Kosmic grooves" being present in architecture the whole time, whether or not we see it. I barely saw them, until writing the talk summary/exploration. Now i see them everywhere. Those are always the most fun (and exhausting) pieces to write--the ones where i am actively learning and shifting my own perspective while i am writing, in ways that would not have occurred if i hadn't arranged those words in that particular and peculiar way....

And what do the plants add? Something for sure. Glad you like your new diggs.
