our holiest act
each and every one of us will face that most holiest act of all .. the death of our bodies .. and we also face the loss of loved ones as a natural part of life .. i completely and utterly resonate with everything lin is saying and being a hospice volunteer myself .. feel i have just discovered a most special sister ..
altho ever so regretfully am unable to attend in october .. i have a feeling i will be a frequent visitor at the tapestry initiative website ..
and oh be still my heart u MUST check out the brother david steindl-rast video on their home page

Interesting
Posted September 24th, 2009 by Anne Tyler Lord--The tapestry initiative looks very interesting and so needed, and the video on the home page was excellent. I have decided to watch it frequently. It really puts the day in a new perspective - as a gift.
And, that is a very special role you have - working at a hospice. I too, am concerned about our current cultural beliefs about death and how it is handled. I have been with family members at the time of death, and watched others handle it badly. Grace & Grit touched me deeply and I think there is so much work to be done here!
Thanks,
Anne Tyler Lord

well said
Posted September 24th, 2009 by Ambo SunoHi, Dee - I agree that death, dying and loss which are a part of living are such important topics to bring foreground. Lin articulated the topic and integral languaging as a framework so well and passionately. The tapestry of life site is a fine looking one and that video of Brother David was so beautifully done.
