Bruce Foster

Enfolding what was, accepting what is, co-creating what's next

About Me

I am a father of three children, Delaney, Thalia and Brogan, ages 7, 5, and 2 years.  I am the partner, lover, friend and husband of Wendy.  I am friend to my friends.  I am son to my father and to my mother, may she rest in peace.  I am a seeker and finder of freedom and fullness.  And I am a human being who puts his best foot forward, makes mistakes, fights with shadows, and hopefully learns from his experience.

Career

I am certified as a teacher in British Columbia and a counselling therapist in Canada.  My current CV/resume is available here.  My current focus is the educational and emotional aspects of underachievement in boys, and working with men on significant issues related to depression, addictions, chronic pain and domestic violence.

I have been first author on several scholarly articles on integral psychotherapy and counselling, published in the following journals: Constructivism in the Human Sciences, Counseling and Values, and Journal of Integral Theory and Practice.  Full citations and access to these articles is available below.

Hobbies and Interests

With three young children at home, my current hobbies and interests are as follows:  Uno, Junior Monopoly, going to the park, making breakfast "just right" for two little girls, and attending swimming lessons!

Meanwhile, my alter ego continues to be interested in "no kids" time with my spouse, meditation, philosophy, psychology, jogging, the great outdoors, ultimate frisbee, basketball, strength training, movement training, music, movies, eating out, reading fantasy novels, and playing video games.
