Concerns

I am fully aware that a label means only what we make it, but I have great concerns and believe that us using the terms higher and lower states of conciousness will ultimately hurt us when attempting to further our philosophies to others.

Though the terms Higher and Lower do not mean better or worse, my concern is when people of a lower state read this, they will look at this as what we are saying and rule us as if we think we are better than people of different views.

My suggestion is to use the words fundamental and trancending levels this way when a new possible integral thinker comes across this they will not get so quickly to a conclusion that is negative.

I agree with you....

I share your concerns and think that we should choose our words carefully when interacting with others.  People get weird, defensive, etc. when one starts talking levels.  People don't wan't to be categorized, labeled, or boxed in.  I think people want to feel alive, connected, free, and human.   

My personal philosophy is to just practice and let your life speak.  Sometimes I get intimidated by the literature that is presented and don't find it very accessable or stimulating.   It doesn't mean that it is not valuable just not accessable to me.  It's like that old saying "Those who have ears let them hear."  Sometimes I think it takes growth to be open to new ideas and to allow the time and process involved.    My yoga teacher would always say "When you are ready..." in between yoga poses before we moved to the next pose.  I liked the gentle and organic flow of this way of moving and living.

It is important to be inclusive and sensitive to the needs of others as well as our own.  Never dismiss your own personal growth and always have compassion for the process.  Someone recently said that I exude perfection and that makes me an intimidating partner.  I am still committed to living a life of integrity yet at the same time I can relax and ease up.  I can be more open and not rush to take things to the next level!
