Saying "Grace"
Below is what we say prior to eating as a family. What have you found to be useful and integral?
"Let us sit down, pause, and acknowledge the work and sacrifice it took to bring this food from nature to our table and honor that journey by slowly taking in the good taste, the great company and the energy we get from both to go back out into the world and do great things together. AMEN!"

Saying Grace
Posted December 15th, 2010 by Stacie Hardison--
Hi Jason,
It is interesting that you bring this up. Throughout my life I have had various experiences of saying grace before meals. It is a sacred and special experience. A time of prayer/reflection/meditation. I think it can promote a sense of connectivity on many levels from the individual to the familial to the spiritual.
I recently have befriended a man who likes to say grace when we sit down to eat. Though it was funny once we were out at a fast food Mexican restaurant and I reached out my hands as an automatic response to prayer as that was how me and a previous friend would say grace. He didn't quite get what I was doing at first. At the time we skipped the grace. Me and my previous friend would hold hands silently before eating meals. No words were said...just a moment of silence. Thank you for your post. I might make saying grace a part of my integral practice.
With love and affection,
Windancer

** Om Ah Hum **
Posted December 14th, 2010 by peacepilgrimHi Jason,
when I bless my meal, I hold my hands above my meal and sing * Om Ah Hum * well known Buddhist Mantra. Below you can find a beautiful explanation of this mantra.
