There is no bigger sin than not trusting ourselves enough as to go deep in our silent essence, touch base with our core and from there express our own flavor… express our greatest potential which at the same time fulfills our mission and serves the World in a unique (and needed) way.

I see no greater or higher-order responsibility than to meet fully with my own self, to own my whole territory: the light and dark. To accept and love myself... the divine life in me, utterly. To discover, rejoice, develop my talents and put them in service. Also, accepting my darkness -and its associated pain-, and have the courage to uncover the hidden gifts these "dreadful qualities" bring. In other words, to fully liberate myself to the true essence of Life.

I have therefore decided to walk consciously my own path to self-discovery and express myself professionally/personally in a way in which I could assist others in finding their own path to self-realization. Finding their own taste.

Regardless of any external consequences, I am committed to honor, cherish and pursue my inner calling of being an author/writer/communicator. I wish to share my findings while walking the road to self- discovery. I have been inspired…, I have seen myself reflected in the words of others…, I have treasured the generosity that other fellow humans have shown by sharing with the World their own quest to conquer the full extension of their inner territory.

I have therefore started to post my reflections here in my blog as well as finishing a book -and giving motivational talks- about to my experience as an Olympic swimmer, and how sports can serve as a way to discover and strengthen personal values. In my blog I will reflect upon what is present for me today... letting whatever ideas, feelings or what ever wishes to emerge... be brought to life. Just as Jeff Salzman says: "it is a sin to speak when you are not moved and it is (an even a greater sin, I may add) not to speak when you are moved". Speaking out of our hearts is like enzymes moving in our bodies. We may not even know in which ways or why, but when we let our ideas free... they travel and trigger effects in other peoples hearts.

In terms of my professional activities (which need to be an extension of myself and not a separate part of my life) I should start by stating the following: For many years my professional career took an administrative path.  At the end of 2008, while finishing my second 4-year term as President of the Mexican Swimming Federation (2001-2009) I got my hands on “the integral vision” book by Ken Wilber. Reconnecting with the integral movement was invigorating. This book came to me at the perfect moment where since I felt deep inside that I needed to reshape my career path. For the first time in my life, I realized that my professional development did not have to be divorced from my real personal interests (personal growth, consciousness development, wellness, responsibility, sharing the importance self fulfillment), but that it should be an expression of them. Since that moment, I have been taking steps towards finding the best way to express myself professionally in a way that is coherent with my personal interests. I recently took part of the Boulder Integral: Integral Incubator, a profound experience that has allowed me to gain clarity as to how I wish to move forward (I relate my experiences in my Blog).

So, on the one hand, in association with a like-minded partner, we are determined to create “The Integral Academy” (name is still undecided) an organization aimed at helping people get more in-touch with their inner selves in order to assist them in their personal multilateral development. Our experiences and products will be designed to "meet people where they are" and will include: cross training sport activities, talks, seminars, courses, books, retreats, and all sort of different services born out a holistic/integral perspective. Our programs will be directed to kids and adults and will seek to help each person meet the challenge of each stage of development. We will also create and offer products aimed at self-identified integral thinkers that will help to unite and grow the community in Mexico.

A second very important initiative I will further is to join forces with leaders in the field, and bring to Mexico Organizational Development Coaching and Consulting programs conceived through an Integral perspective. This initiative seeks to help leaders and decision makers make wiser more inclusive decisions that shifts perspectives from an "only profit bottom-line" to a multiple bottomline perspective which includes: personnel personal development, societal value added and ecological impact, amongst others.

I am convinced that before we can go out there and change the World (an make it a better place), we must touch base with our intentions and make sure that we are not trying to evade ourselves dressing up our cause as a worthy one (make ourselves a better place). In other words, making sure that we have taken off our "distorting glasses" so that our actions arise from a more objective connection with reality and that we truly are serving others and the World´s best interest, and no just our unattended fear-based needs.

“Existence and transcendence” are the two legs required to fully live our mission, and while expressing it, we simultaneously fulfill our purpose and service the World in a unique and required way.

Final note: Sharing with all of you my intentions here makes them come out from my own awareness and become a commitment with the World that strengthens my own conviction. Also, I see that integral network creation is a requirement for this moment that we are living, I therefore invite anyone that wishes to share anything with me or join forces in any initiative, to contact me.

Blessings!
