A Vote of No Confidence

I was very impressed with Rob Smith's grasp of the whole picture, right down to the nitty gritty details of the markets and economy.  Unfortunately, in comparison the other panelists seemed shockingly uninformed, the one exception being Bert, who made some very valid distinctions. 
Having been an Obama supporter, I could not be more disappointed.  I no longer trust him in anything he does or says.  In a poor analogy, he has begun to remind me of one of those "cool" parents.  He emphasizes style over substance.  Any attempt at parenting is done behind closed doors and through others, so that he can observe the effect and then either take credit or dodge blame.  I am confronted with an elitist and narcissistic element that I had somehow missed. I now find him intelligent, but in no way wise. More con man than confidence inspiring. In short, I have lost faith in his ability to do the job at hand. 
I believe there is a truth as to the state of the economy that Obama and his administration are avoiding. As the realities continue to impress upon peoples’ lives, there is a very real risk of a large percentage of those in the orange and green memes sliding down the spiral to into blue and red. Picturing a scene from the California wild fires in my mind, I will say that sometimes you have to give up the yard and landscaping in order to save the house. I question the wisdom of expending too much energy in trying to move people up the spiral to integral at this moment when the greater danger is that societal conditions brought about by economic collapse will drag far more down the spiral to blue, red, or worse. 
As Rob so clearly stated, we have done little more than put Band-Aids on boo-boos up to this point. We must first nurse our country back to health before we attempt to climb new mountains. Otherwise, we will have neither the strength nor the endurance to complete the journey.

Obama

i don't think he is playing us with his "style" over substance. i just feel he doesn't know what to do about it.--

Did Dr. King inspire up with "what is" or with "what could be." 

I for one am not willing to settle for a leader that does not know what to do about it.  Especially when he surrounds himself with those who are overflowing with conceptual knowledge but there is a dearth of those with experiential knowledge.
