Breathtaking
I read something today that surprised me. It was a small mention, but it has huge significance for me. It's a list of symptoms for what Maxine Aston calls "Affective Deprivation Disorder". Another name for it is the "Cassandra Complex" - named after the woman who Apollo fell in lust with, gave the gift of prophecy to and after she refused to get jiggy with him, cursed by making sure no one believed anything she said. Fall of Troy? She forsaw it. No one listened.
Affective Deprivation Disorder is not a legal entity yet. Not in the DSM-IV. She hasn't had her work peer-reviewed yet. I think I understand why, but if I said so, who would believe me?
In the list of "physical effects" is "ME (myalgic encephalomyelitis)."
That's what Ken has.
The kinds of potentials that Ken and Richard are describing here are incredible. And people who can see this shit are really hangin' their nuts out there. I wonder if there is anyone on this Earth who more people claim is wrong than Ken Wilber. Statistically, I don't think there could be. The more people there are who find out who he is and what he's saying, the more people there will be - EXPONENTIALLY - who won't believe it. This is why I hear his tragironic sick sense of humor when he makes jokes about being The Great One. It makes me nauseous to think about it. Every year we find out how much bigger the Universe is than what we once thot, and with each new up-sizing there are more aliens who will think Ken Wilber is wrong.
I'm not here to have a conversation about whether or not Ken Wilber is right or wrong. I'm here to have a conversation about what it is like to run that much current thru your wires all the time and have people constantly trying to gnaw away at them. He's holding a spinning and whirling Micro-Kosmos in his hand and watching all it's parts interact with all the others and sees what's potentially going to happen next and people are trying to disrupt his signal to argue about stupid shit.
Is it any wonder?
I think what Maxine Aston is eventually going to be remembered for - after she tears all her hair out and runs screaming into the night - is trying to track an Interior pattern. Its real. It's there. But we're not allowed to believe her in this era of a Flat Kosmos. When will it end? What will we have to lose before we finally decide to acknowledge the existence of Interior Truths? How bad will it have to hurt?
---oOo---
Does IL aspire to be one of those amazing environments where Real Thought is encouraged? If so, then they're gonna have to come up with a better plan to protect it from Flat Kosmos thinkers and their "I'm Great! You're Not!" kind of interaction. This Level of Development is just too fragile.

Terrifying...
Posted June 3rd, 2010 by Daruma MatsumotoAt risk of beng labelled a "Flat Cosmos Thinker", I find it terrifying that anyone would think that Ken Wilbur is anything other than an average human. The way you people idolize this guy and think that he has contributed anything or any great meaning or utility is staggering. Think for yourself and stop looking for ways to praise the Great Leader Ken Wilbur.
