What is the meaning of life?

Over the years I have recognized and taken various opportunities to conduct surveys on the human condition.  Sort of mini social experiments to help gain insight into what makes people "tick".  One of the things which I have consistently done involves the moment whenever a person asks me "is there anything else that I can help you with?".  I take this as an opportunity to ask them a question:

What is the meaning of life?

If I were to categorize people's responses, they would rest into one of a handful or so of "containers".  One of the more intriguing responses I have gotten to date is:

"The meaning of life is to survive.  It is up to [each of] us to determine our level of survival".

I appreciate this response in that it seems to involve a sort of relativistic aspect, but at the same time it seems to be lacking an integral (or all-inclusive) framework.

Lately I have found myself wondering if there is one answer to this question or a set of possible answers.  I mean, really... what is the meaning of life?

To love and be loved?

To find and experience our True Self?

To grow groves of eggplant (simply because we like the word "eggplant")?

If anyone has a difinitive answer, I would love to hear it.  Even a thesis and antithesis would be great.  I can interpolate .

Among other things...

...the meaning of life is to ask questions like, "What is the meaning of life."

meaning

Perhaps not a complete answer, but

maybe it is to see the light against the darkness,

... create whole out of fragments,

...swim with might up the stream

and then appreciate and enjoy the free ride back to the shore you left.

feel the struggle and then surrender to who you really are.

feel the Love.

cheers.
