A Poem: Into My Heart of Darkness
I found this poem I had written on a scrap of paper as I was cleaning up around my desk this morning. I wrote it the last year or two.
Into my heart of darkness
Into the darkness of my heart
I search for the Light of God
What is true in this abyss?
I love God, I love, I, love
That does not go away
All my stuff, all my foibles
All my dreams
They pass and are burned
In this pain, in this heat
In the center of my suffering heart
But I love, oh God
And I don't even know what that means
But it abides this love
The light of a billion suns burns through
The tears of a creation that forgot
that churns and swirls
And is born and dies
And is as real and as solid as nothing can be
forsake me not, lest I forget
But even in my forgetting...
I am
I bow my head
It is too much
I dissolve
I am
