Divine Pride
I don't get the "Divine Pride" title. What's to be proud of? Can a crater in the ground be proud it's a crater? I don't get it. To me, this title doesn't serve the presentation, which is otherwise brilliant. Ken is working at the highest level of gracious, luminous compassion that I have ever seen him in.

Divine Pride arises in self-reflective Consciousness
Posted April 2nd, 2010 by Brian RobinsonI think I understand what you're saying Jon and, in a way, i agree. It is kind of strange for the Divine to take pride in itself since there is nothing to compare it to, like how there's nothing to compare a crater to, being just what it is. However, there is this experiential component of pride, of the Divine experiencing itself and marveling at its creation. Of course, a crater isn't conscious so it can't experience pride but the universe is becoming conscious of itself through us, as Ken points out, and it's in this conscious space, at the leading edge where the divine is creating, that this Divine pride is experienced. We experience ourselves as part of this miraculous creation that can actually transcend itself. It's more like dignity than the way we're used to using the word "pride." When the Self in form actually transcends what has come before and transcends itself, it feels like a divine pride or a divine dignity. I often look at my cat and notice this natural pride and dignity in his look and think, that's very similar to Divine pride or Divine dignity; just natural, just there.
In the world of creation there are opposites and, at one end of the spectrum, there are people doing destructive things and I'm pretty sure they don't experience any divine pride but, on the other end, there are people that are part of this evolutionary movement to create something higher and this is one place where Divine pride is experienced.

Hey Jon
Posted March 22nd, 2010 by Billy GuilfoyleThe definition of pride:
It makes sense to be wary of too much pride heading into egocentrism. Yet even here we can see someone going overboard with pride would be therefore coming from an inferiority complex and trying to create an image of superiority or some sort of equalizing inner sense of self to make up for an inward sense of lack, which is sad indeed. And I'm happy we all feel so deeply for these types of individuals.
As for a crater not being able to show pride, it isn't able to show love or hold an infant and rock her or him to sleep either. Our inner sense of well-being isn't reliant upon simply laying in the ground as an empty space, it requires expressing our truth, feeling loved and accepted, being able to love and accept others, and also to be proud of our work and feel that it is coming from a place that expresses our highest potential. Just my opinion.
Much love to you,
Billy
