Marketing scams

Sorry such a late response to my post. 

To Martin: "For example, while you criticize Harris/Centerpointe's marketing, you claim that they "don't really put in any time or effort to understand how or why brainwave entrainment works." That's a pretty damning accusation--do you have any evidence to back up your claim?"

This is based on my personal experience with Centerpointe.  I think it's fair to say that I've watched or read 80% of the written/audio/video material that Centerpointe has put out.  Indeed, the book Thresholds of the Mind I credit to be one of the most valuable books I have ever read.  However, TotM provides only a very rudimentary understanding of brainwave entrainment.  The real value in that book lies in the "perspective" with which Mr. Harris looks at personal growth, which was revolutionary and transformative for me when I read it.  Many times I have sent emails to Centerpointe support or posted questions on Bill's blog about brainwave entrainment technology.  The response is always "follow the instructions."  In my opinion, I want to understand this incredibly effective tool I am using inside and out.  I see that it works, but I want to know HOW it works.  That being said, I have nothing but respect for Holosync and Centerpointe.  They put out a product that really really changed my life, more so than anything I've ever seen.  My contention with them is that there is no indication whatsoever that they are dedicated to continuously refining and updating their product with the latest technology, whereas Eric Thompson has expressed that indication.  That's where PMP and iAwake come into the picture.  

"You also end by implying that PMP will prove itself superior to Holosync. That would be wonderful if we had an even better product/technology than Holosync, but PMP is very new--coming out in September 2010, I believe. On what grounds--besides the enthusiasm of Dupuy & Thompson--do you base this claim?"

This is based on the methods with which PMP uses for brainwave entrainment.  Holosync uses two methods to entrain brainwaves.  1) Binaural beats and 2) carrier therapy (lowering the carrier frequency as you go through the program).  PMP on the other hand uses six.  This page explains it very well: http://www.profoundmeditationprogram.com/inet

The most revolutionary change, however, is the new way of looking at the nervous system.  Holosync introduces a progressively higher and higher amount of energy to the nervous system in a linear fashion.  However, if you use the analogy of cardio in sports training, it is much more effective in terms of growth to do short, extremely fast sprints, rather than to just jog at a single speed for a long period of time.  Holosync introduces the higher stimulus in a fashion similar to jogging.  PMP introduces the higher stimulus in a fashion similar to doing sprints.  This alone multiplies the effectiveness of PMP over Holosync by tenfold.  Then, there is also the addition of "Release" tracks.  Similar to sports training, the body needs time to rest after an intense workout.  Similarly, when the nervous system is allowed time to rest and release, it will regenerate at a higher level.  That's where the "Release" tracks come in.

Plus, this eliminates the need for multiple levels.  The entire PMP program is $100 while the entire Holosync program is many thousands of dollars.   

Overall, Eric Thompson displays a much deeper understanding of brainwave entrainment (on a more academic level) than Bill Harris who, in my opinion, understands it on a very basic "it works" level.

To Tayha: "Wondering if Mr Harris did have a team doing the research, and the assumption is he did not.  Maybe their is more to be inquired.  Has any one tried that?  In my experience, I have been drawn in deeper into 'life' and 'shadow' and all sorts, and things happening or "not"  with results,  seemingly being that I understand more when I am consistent.  (with using Holosync that is)     Any new info or response?  Thank you"

I'm not entirely sure what you mean.  However, it is totally possible that Mr. Harris has a team doing research.  However, from the material he has released to the public, and the technology used in his product, it seems unlikely.  I believe the only piece of research that has been done using Holosync specifically is a study in TotM where Holosync is shown to increase the amount of certain neuro-chemicals and decrease the amount of some others.  Anyway, that's all well and good, but I think PMP will appeal to more rational people who are interested in somebody who has an academic understanding of brainwave entrainment and is dedicated to constantly updating his product.

Note:  I used Holosync in the past, and now use PMP.  That is my perspective.
