Marketing scams

I have no problem with marketing products and charging money for it - be they spiritual or other. But what Bill Harris is doing is what I consider to be a huge scam. This is a recent letter from Bill Harris to all of us who are holosync users:

"As you may know, each deeper level is more potent
than the last. Why? Because we lower the carrier
frequency we use to deliver the alpha, theta, and delta
brain wave patterns you experience with Holosync."

I believe this to be complete rubbish, and I haven't seen any research supporting these claims. If someone have seen this research, please let me know. It is one thing to charge great sums of money for something that we ourselves basically can produce for free (or that other people sell way cheaper), it is another thing to lie about what your product does. Bill makes this "carrier claim" over and over and it is time he back it up.

Here's the evidence...

The research behind all of those claims you have posted is freely available on Centerpointe's website:

Another page of great research on binaural technology:

http://www.profoundmeditationprogram.com/research

Explanation of the carrier waves:

"The reason amplitude and stimulation become greater as the carrier frequency is lowered is because, as the base pitch used to carry the entrainment signal lowers, both the length and the height (i.e., the distance between the valleys and troughs - the amplitude) of the carrier wave increase. This in turn delivers more energy, which in turn literally bounces off of the curvature of the inside of the skull, until it becomes an amplitude-modulated standing wave - the binaural beat. This approach is tantamount to using sound as energy medicine. (For more information on how binaural beats are produced, please read The Science of Brainwave Entrainment.)"  -Profound Meditation Program website

I can also attest, as can many thousands of others who use Holosync, that lowering the carrier frequency provides a greater "push" to the brain.  While you may not choose to believe it, for whatever reason, I can literally feel the push and the extra power behind a lower frequency, and this is doubly proved when I go through periods of negative, unresolved emotions coming up and being released.  If I listen to the same track with the same carrier frequency over and over again, eventually I will stop feeling any changes occur because all of my unresolved material has been released.  Yet, when I move to the next level, with a lower carrier frequency, the cycle of unresolved emotion coming up and being released occurs again.  If lowering the carrier frequency has "no effect," as you claim, then why does this happen to me and thousands of other users of Holosync?

Interested

I would be interested in hearing about how we could get this technology for free or much cheaper and how these alternates compare with his product.

I tend to agree

I tend to agree with Jonas.

I purchased the first level of Holysinc for quite a reasonable sum.

When Holysinc contacted me about moving to the next level, I wrote to them personally to get an explanation of the science behind why one form of delta or theta waves was going to be different from what I was currently receiving. What I got was a very brief explanation from one of the marketing team, and no offer of info I could read about why it was going to take me 'deeper' (I found past witnessing meditation to be more beneficial anyway)

If you are going to get people to commit to a further $1000 or so, from an integral perspective I believe that the scientific explanation should offered openly.

All the best, Cam

Where's the evidence?

I’m find Harris’ claims extreme “Safely and effortlessly take you to states of profoundly deep (and extremely pleasurable) meditation…

»

Stimulate the creation of new neural pathways between the right and left hemispheres of your brain, balancing your brain and leading you to a high-performance state scientists call "whole brain functioning"…

»

Dramatically improve your learning ability, memory, intuition, creativity, and your ability to focus, concentrate and think more clearly…

»

Create true quantum leaps in your personal self awareness…

»

Significantly lower your stress levels and lower your levels of harmful brain chemicals related to stress…

»

Create remarkable improvements in your mental and emotional health—even in areas that have stubbornly resisted change with other approaches…

»

Dramatically increase your production of vital (and very pleasurable) brain chemicals related to your longevity, well-being, and quality of life…”

I also find it troubling that he gets a such a supportive  seat at the table with the Integral community when he hasn’t done his homework on what he claims. If for instance slowing the carrier frequency increases the depth of the delta brain experience, then it seems that this would be testable and not too difficult to demonstrate. And if it is true, then great, let’s test it in as many ways we can. I wonder where’s the evidence? And yet, Harris gets an interview with Ken and others from Integral which sends a subtle message that his technology is legitimate. I hope it is, but he makes large claims about the impact of his technology, and if it’s not based on evidence, then why is this being considered? Will anyone at Centerpointe or Integral help dispel this concern ?

No Research Proven

Sorry, but this link does NOT prove that lowering the carrier frequency - as the original poster asked - has any greater effect.

http://centerpointe.com/articles/articles_research.php

Hell, I didn't even see the WORD carrier on the entire page. So, that completely disproves that validity claim beyond any shadow of a doubt. Binaural beats on the other hand, HAVE been proven to be effective; there's plenty of research on that. But, that's not what the poster was asking.

Bill Harris is a marketeer. You can literally make your own Holosync equivalent CD's for free. In fact, you can make them even better, because you have 100% control over the music you embed the binaural beats on.  Unless of course paying $300 for a few 50cent CD's is your thing.  Or, to be fair, if you use the coaching hotline frequently. But, if not...
