Experience the Territory
About Me
I do my best to notice phenomena arising within and without. I love to play and riff with ideas. Thus, my presense here, in this cyber gathering, Integral Life.
My biggest struggle is with feeling appreciation for the status quo, but I've recently noticed this sentiment as a seed of discontentment lurking beneath the surface of my modus operandi. So I'm excited to pay closer attention to this and watch how it affects my general emotional tone.
My greatest ease and gifts in life are my good fortune in romantic love, my healthy athletic body, my good looks, my intuition, my clear articulate communication abilities, my habit of self-reflection, my ability to connect with people from all walks of life, my tender heart.
I've been a student of Ken Wilber's work for the past 5 years and have had an intuitive attration to the territory of integral thinking for much longer. I actually discovered Ken Wilber's work while having a stimulating conversation in Trident bookstore in Boulder with a friend of mine who was studying at Naropa. I was explaining to him the undergraduate thesis paper that I wanted to write for my International Affairs degree at CU. As I was explaining it to him he said that sounds a lot like the work of Ken Wilber. "Have you ever heard of him," he asked. He went to bookshelf and bought me "A Brief History of Everything." "Thank god! I'm glad I don't have to write my thesis anymore," I thought. Besides, Ken has said everything so well.
So I've been living in the mountain goast town of Pinos Altos, New Mexico for the last 4 1/2 years. We just got access to DSL internet connections and what a life saver. For the past month I've been devouring just about everything on Integral Naked with insatiable delight.
I live near my parents and brother. I grew up here. If there are any Integral thinkers out there who would like to come visit, I'd love to show you around. We have the largest wilderness area in the lower 48 just a stone's throw from my house, also, a racous bar with frequent live music a stone's throw in the other direction. My house is a 500 sq ft passive solar adobe that I built with my parents and brother and friends in 1997 before starting college with solar power and solar hot water heater. I'm so blessed! My new affirmation and practice is to remember that.
I look forward to connecting with you on this forum and out in the world and the greater kosmos.
