If you don't know where you want to go you're liable to end up someplace else."
I am a futurist who writes, speaks and consults on the powerful changes impacting our communities, country, and globe today from my company Future Impact Education. When I received my Master's degree in Studies of the Future from the University of Houston-Clear Lake (1997), I was not familiar with Integral theory.
Over the course of reading Wilber and other Integral theorists I came to understand that Integral was tying parts of the puzzle together that I had already suspected of being connected. Coming from an anthropology background (anthropology was my undergraduate degree) and having later taken many business and hard science courses I saw things fitting together that made my own intuitive perceptions make sense at a describable cognitive level.
Although I still do "pure future's" work I am increasingly integrating Integral into future's tools such as scenario planning, environmental scanning, disruptive change analysis, and forecasting.
I always welcome conversation with anyone about any subject--for me that is one essential part of "being Integral." For me there is nobody in our world who cannot share something of value.
