Wondering

Today at our Integral Salon we were discussing the Spirit Module in the Integral Life Practice book, and began talking about the 'Thou" or second person relationship to God.

I am wondering about something, and wondering is anyone else is wondering... please read this not in a Mythic context but in a higher level context... knowing that we really don't know what is out there, and how it got out there, and also knowing that the Taoists have been saying for a long time that there are "immortals" who sort of grew up to be "gods"... this is not just the Taoists, many other traditions also hold this sort of thing to be true, even in popular Christianity there has been an idea that some people, after death, become angels... see Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials series, which is no mere kids' fantasy book, despite marketing to the contrary.

OK: is it possible that the Boddhisattvas have made vows (whatever that really means in the greater context) that when a person chants their mantras, special grace and insight may become available to that person? If you can imagine something like an interaction where the person brings their best intention to chanting a mantra, and that somehow the boddhisattva (or immortal, or angel, or packet of IS-ness or??) then meets them halfway, so to speak, bringing GRACE in the form of easier insights, peace, whatever it is, above and beyond the ability of that chanting person to otherwise access?

What do you think?

I-Ching

Hi Laura. I hope you get some responses for your questions. Sorry that I don't have anything to say on this at the moment.

I see in your profile you're interested and involved in the I-Ching. I have been thinking about this book a bit lately and wonder if you would be willing to suggest what version I might buy. Thanks. The best, ambo
