Another door opens
Another bardo has arisen – an intermediate state, a time of transition as one phase of my life ends and another is about to begin.
At the beginning of next year my husband and I will be moving to Dubai for a few years.
Born in South Africa, I have lived in Germany for almost ten years, have been back in South Africa for twelve years and now leave to spend a period of my life in the Middle East.
As I enter this period of transition, I look with anticipation, excitement and trepidation at the door opening in front of me. It beckons, revealing glimpses of what lies ahead. It opens just wide enough at this moment, realizing I need time to close the door I have just passed through before I can continue.
I feel in a sense that I am suspended right now – between continents, between cultures, between a multitude of perspectives – on a threshold.
And as I make my way across this gap I wait – floating as it were in the great spaciousness of all that is.

Your Move
Posted December 4th, 2009 by Anita BoydWell! Big breath intake when I first read this. I'm grateful that you share your journey with us, Linda. Apart from being darn interesting, the observations that spring from your lived story are inspiring. I'm grateful that we all are connected, almost regardless of where we are located. May your move go well. With much love,

turning the knob
Posted December 2nd, 2009 by Anne Tyler Lord--Linda,
That is beautifully expressed. You probably didn't realize that your Everyday Bardo series would also be symbols speaking to you to prepare you for bigger transitions. I have found that often "things" or "symbols" in the world have spoken to me, grabbed my attention, sometimes whispered messages as though they spoke to something I needed inside, or something that was preparing me for further transformation.
This will certainly be a big change for you in almost every way. You have such a wonderful way of learning from all experiences in your life and sharing them with others. I can't wait to see what life holds for you in Dubai. And, I look forward to sharing your journey through your writings, which are always so insightful and seem to explode with multiple perspectives.
I wish you all the best as you close the doors that must be closed, which can be sad and heart-wrenching. And, I know you will boldly walk through the new door with amazing wisdom and compassion.
Looking forward to your Dubai doors!
Good luck and keep us posted!
