PTGD

In Reference to:
The Tip of the Dreidel

Loved Rabbi David Ingber’s use of the terminology PTGD – Post Traumatic God Disorder, to describe what happens to us when we struggle with the image of God that we have from our youth.

Unaware that we are struggling with the second person perspective of God, disillusioned we often want to throw out the whole concept of God, or turn to one of the traditions that focus mostly exclusively on one of the other two perspectives.

In the discussion there is a reminder from Ken Wilber that we need to awaken to all three perspectives of Spirit in a healthy fashion:

The third person perspective which is the objective description of the world arising; reality as it is.

The second person perspective in which there is a sense of a being with intelligence.

The first person perspective where Spirit is the actual subject in each being, the seer, the witness, pure awareness, the I amness that every person can say.

This talk was a reminder to deal with any shadows of PTGD still lurking somewhere, waiting to pop their heads out.

It was also a reminder of the beauty of an integral approach to life.
