shadow posturing as love
I am often confronted with the fact that individual shadow is much easier to spot that collective shadow. Individual selfishness is easy to see, and it is quite often the case that self-love and self-care are considered to be selfish. However, when it comes to the collective shadow,it postures as love and care and concern and compassion for one's family, one's tribe, one's ethnic group when it is often fueled by Ego and a need to identify with a particular group of people. It easily becomes us vs them, and has little to do with selfless love.
the problem of course is that we start with the love of one's own, family, ethnic group, etc. This love is often hard enough. but then to move on to multiple perspectives and still believe in the unity of all that is, that is the challenge that I am confronted with each day.
