Wondering Perhaps?
Maybe we're missing the most significant message in this movie?? Maybe Cameron, himself, tapped into something he doesn't even realize yet. The message is the use of higher energies that carry within them ideas, insights and new ways of knowing. And, what a great way to bring these messages to the world but through the movie arena, where millions will begin to open within themselves, a rememberance, of what we are capable of.
I don't agree with Ken this is a pre-trans fallacy through the eyes of modern or post modern development. Here is my argument: subtle energies are just not really understood by modernity or most post modernitiy levels, and which clearly the Na've understood these energies. If modernity and post modernity levels did understand we would not be where we are today.......we would be using these energies in ways that the Na've expressed, through their obvious ability to interconnect with these powerful energies within themselves, and within their purely energetic environment. What we view as science fiction today is perhaps tomorrow's future. Sending someone in space at one time was a science fiction movie. Today its possible.
The Na'vi may have looked like, what we judge as tribal or pre-modern, but they were anything but tribal and pre-modern in their ability to hold multiply perspectives and understandings. They also had achieved an extraordianary ability to harness LOVE in its most advanced use and understanding. Not only within themselves but with the natural world. They had the ability to use these powerful energies to transend language barriers and directly carry their messages through these energy currents of vibration.....expecially at these higher levels of consciousness....telepathy. They also through an ability to transport themselves through the air, expressed a far superior knowledge of air currents making our current knowledge, of our most advanced airplane methods, inferior in comparison. Their understanding of the natural world and their communication with the natural world, again, was their deeper understanding of higher energies, and how these energies are interconnected.
This movie excited me because what is possible is now being seen by millions, even though they see it only as science fiction at this time. We, I believe, are at the edges of being awakened into higher, more unified, stages of consciouness. When enough of humanitiy, divine/human, like the human/na've are awakened to who we are,we will open to these advanced subtle energies. But again, just as the Na've warned, until our own human consciouness expands into a more divine unification, these energies will not be harnessed. This power will be understood and used for the transformation and unification of our planet and this is what all of us should be awakening too.
Much love to you all,
Mary Linda
As a footnote: before posting this on Integral I wrote a quote, which I do every morning, on my facebook profile.
"If beautiful art does not express moral ideas, ideas which unite people, then it is not art, but only entertainment. People need to be entertained in order to distance themselves from disappointment in their lives." Immanuel Kant

1-2-3-of god
Posted June 20th, 2010 by Naas FerreiraHi Mary;
Thank you for this insight. Ken's 1-2-3 of God or I-We-It, is my problem with art, morals and science. The Na'vi see nature as a Thou while in Ken's system it is an It. Jospeh Campbell said that if you address nature as Thou the psychology of the ego and consciousness changes or transforms. That is what Integral should be about - the transformation of consciousness. On a mythological level, Jake's transformation from a paraplegic to an avatar to a Na'vi points to our own transformation. Ken's review missed this point.
