MICHAEL MUGAKU ZIMMERMAN, SENSEI
A Zen student and teacher, a former judge, and a practicing lawyer, Zimmerman’s interest in and understanding of matters Integral has been continually nourished by his wife and fellow Zen student and teacher, and well-known Integral Institute teacher, Diane Musho Hamilton, Sensei.
He is a partner in the law firm of Snell & Wilmer LLP in Salt Lake City, Utah. He and Diane received Dharma transmission from Dennis Genpo Merzel, Roshi and served as vice abbots of his Big Mind Western Zen Center in Salt Lake City. Currently, Michael and Diane are teachers at The Boulder Mountain Zendo, which they founded and which operates a retreat facility in Torrey, Utah and a city center in Salt Lake City.
