Developing compassionate science
This presentation integrates science and intuition in a manner that allows for my growth. I have been struggling with the "name calling" aspect of leveling for some time and the metric/model distinction helps me put to words what was intuitively niggling at my thinking. The metric assist in distancing the individual context and allows for a more compassionate view. Sometimes I have a tendency to throw the baby out with the bathwater when I reach areas of frustration and this allows me to include the developmental measures in developing understanding. I am interested in pursuing the references behind this in more depth. Thanks for leading the way with your thinking.

so important for the world
Posted August 18th, 2010 by Kelly WardThe complexity of what is being presented can be overwhelming. I find myself moving into assessment mode and quickly realize that it leads to a place where simple "labels" are not possible. It is nice to hear a discussion about the complexities of human development and its point to emphasize responsibility and compassion. I too have fallen into the traps of simply labeling , physical pains in my body tends to lead to a tourette's syndrome of the mind where I am aware of only injustice.
Living with the Integral approach is a process and with practice could really lend itself to improved interpersonal relationship. I believe intuition and listening to intuition is so very important as is holding things lightly. a small situation held tightly can grow out of proportion--the cause of pathologies? fixations? partial views? and the potential for human dramas instead of nurturing a healthy respect for individuality.
not an easy path but a worthwhile one. !!
