Philip Henderson

About Me

My name is Philip. I live in Belfast Northern Ireland. I do some consultancy work for NIUSE , a local union which promotes and lobbies for employment issues wfor people of disability.

My particular interest is in Mental Health, as I have a history of mental health problems. I am currently studying the Bamford report which is a 'drains up ' assessment of mental health needs in Northern Ireland over the next few years.

There seems to be a 'silo mentality' among many of our governmental departments and this needs addressed.

My concern is the still negative mentality that seems to stigmatize mental health patients as potential axe murderers. Also  the inflexibility of employment practices which means that a lot of talent goes to waste.

Education

I have a college level qualification in Physiotherapy and have done loads of minor courses on computing, job skills and the like.

Career

I am currently in the process of finding something new to do workwise. I am a retired Physical Therapist and have been recently doing a hospital admin job.

A recent breakdown has meant having a total rethink of my living, thats why I am studying Integral theory.

Hobbies and Interests

I enjoy going to the gym, hope to learn how to swim soon. I like the outdoors especially wild camping and hillwalking.
