Poem - A Parable

What is it deep inside of me, that drives me to insanity?

A sweetness of reality, which words can never see.

A journey into depths I fear, unfolding symbols begin to appear.

A world unbroken floats eternal, through illuminating contours internal.

My Muse shatters the world before me, broken fragments distinguish reality.

Desperation mourns a fall from fantasy, as stillness remains the thread of ecstasy.

I sense the grasping and need to bequeath, the world I've created for what lies beneath.

Another illusion created to serve, the perspective of reality I need to preserve.

I no longer feel the need to shed, the things of which I used to dread.

All that remains is the delicate dance, in the vista of life's promises, that once held me in a trance.
