We shall never achieve harmony with land, any more than we shall achieve absolute justice or liberty for people. In these higher aspirations, the important thing is not to achieve but to strive. -Aldo Leopold
My two major interests are Integral Theory and ecology--or any tool for understanding natural systems. I'm currently living in Tucson, Arizona with my lovely wife Deryn. We moved here for her to begin graduate school in Landscape Architecture for Fall 2010. I'm looking to go back to school myself--as soon as I can find a way to get in-state tuition--so I can build on my experience as a land steward by studying a combination of environmental engineering and restoration ecology. My ultimate aim is to inspire humanity and teach the skillful means necessary for humanity to live intentionally as stewards of this evolutionary unfolding known as life on Earth.
I began reading Wilber's work in 1999, while also working towards a degree in environmental studies. I've been mostly in the closet about my interest in Integral Theory due to my excitement falling on deaf ears time after time. Now, I am so excited to see the emergence of a wonderful community of Integral theorists and practitioners. I've started to make friends in the Integral community within the last year or so and hope to continue that for the rest of my life. I am about to plunge more deeply into the modernistic worldview within the realm of engineering and the science of ecology. I hope to have Integral friends to help me keep one foot in those fields and one within the more expansive landscape of Integral!
